Will You Join Me in Helping Some Precious Children in Swaziland?

I am starting this blog for the purpose of partnering with a ministry called Hopechest in starting a community of sponsors for a group of orphans in Swaziland. PLEASE CLICK HERE for information on the specific group of orphans we will be helping.

Here are some facts about that country:
~It is a small country, about the size of New Jersey, almost completely contained within the country of South Africa.
~It has a population of 1.2 Million people.
~It has the lowest documented life expectancy in the world.
~It has the highest rate of HIV/AIDS in the world, with an estimated 46% of the population infected with the virus.
~Nearly all babies born with HIV die by the age of 3.
~The infection rate among children 15-23 years of age is 57%
~If a child in Swaziland makes it to age 15, there is only a 6% chance that he or she will live to be 30.

Here's the good news: Through an innovative solution called a "carepoint," Hopechest, in partnership with Adventures in Missions (AIM), is able to provide for the basic needs of children throughout Swaziland. They implement a feeding program that feeds the children 3-5 nutritional meals every week (often the only food these kids get). They also help start community gardens, provide group tutoring, and assist with medical and educational aid as funds allow. Most importantly, they implement a discipleship program through indigenous disciplers whose primary job is to look after the children's spiritual wellbeing by leading group Bible studies on a weekly basis. Through carepoints and Hopechest, children across the world in the most challenging and desperate circumstances can be reached.

Do you want to be involved in changing the lives of precious orphans on the other side of the world . . . feeding the hungry . . . clothing the naked . . . providing medicine to childen who will die without it . . . bringing Hope to the hopeless . . . loving "the least of these" . . . ? PLEASE CLICK HERE (if you didn't already - I also put it at the top of this post for those who wouldn't read all the way to the bottom to see it - I know, tricky:) to watch a video with more information about the specific carepoint we have the opportunity to open and serve. There are 230 desperate, hungry children waiting there who need sponsors so that we can get food in their bellies and bring them a message of Hope. Will you stand up for and sponsor one of these children? Will you be their advocate and help spread the word?

I am humbled and amazed that God is giving us an opportunity to be a part of something so close to his heart as caring for the fatherless. Please let me know if you want to be a part of it, too. You can send me an e-mail or leave me a comment (please include your contact info) to let me know how you will get involved or if you want more information.
